300zx to s14 coilover adapter question

Just wanting some more information on this, is the "bushing" polyurethane or metal? What size are the bolts?

Trying to find a solution for a custom application using the s14 subframe with 300zx uprights.

If I understand you correctly you're asking about the bushing in the actual coilover? That is almost always rubber in the S-chassis coilover which mates to a solid peg on the upright, with the z32 upright the coilover doesn't have a bushing since it is relocated to the upright.

Thus the mount adapter replicates the solid peg using a large bolt for the S-chassic coilover, with the added freedom of changing the angle and position. Depending on the car and subframe used, the coilover axis can have quite a complex movement, the multi-link by nature doesn't have a smooth arc to it, but rather the upright shifts and twists along the path as each arm binds against its bushing.

no im asking about the bushing in the kit you sell that replaces the rubber bushing in the 300zx uprights to run the s14 rear struts.

It isn't a bushing, the mount adapter uses a solid aluminum slug, press-fit.

Perfect. Thats what I was hoping for! Any chance to get a bracket setup for a 1/2 bolt vs the s14 shock size? I think the s14 is a 12mm. Not sure if it would have enough metal left if its just drilled. I have coilovers with 1/2" spherical bearings on both ends I plan to run.

The stud going through the bushing is 20mm diameter, as is the substitute bolt in this case, and the spacer rings included will only allow a minimum bushing width of 40mm-ish ?

To use a rodend directly on the mount adapter would require some custom rodend spacer/washer reducers at the least.

The other option is to weld some washer stacks on the inside of the bracket maybe, which will also reduce the hole to 1/2", though a 3/4" rodend could be a lot easier to deal with. I imagine this is up to the hardware you are using, so feel free to post pictures.
